Justine Hsieh

Growing up, Justine Hsieh always questioned her path in life. It wasn’t until she hit her high school years, that she finally feels she found her answer in volunteering. The Red Cross Club was the start of her experience both as a volunteer and a leader and she soon found she excelled at both. Starting with organizing blood donations as a freshman, she soon became President, leading her entire High School Red Cross chapter by her senior year. Through her guidance, the club increased from 56 to 132 members and most important, more than doubled the amount of donated blood (from 77 to 185 units) in one year. The result? Saving 555 lives…something Hsieh takes very personally. “My family is my biggest source of support, and the satisfaction I feel from supporting the Red Cross is something that drives all I do in life. I want to work in the healthcare field, I want to make a difference. And if I can inspire others along the way? Well, it just doesn’t get any better than that.”
